Question I have very noticeable engorged blue veins around my eyes that have been a concern of mine for quite some time. One is extends down from the corner of my left eye, while the other branches from the corner to the lower part of my right eye. I am on Diovan for HBP, and I realize that that drug reduces the restriction of blood vessels. However, I have asked about this condition to my family doctor and my eye doctor and both pawn it off on allergies. True, my nose is nearly always stuffy, but none of the allergy medications I have taken (allegra, xyzal) have remedied that situation, but I digress. I am desperate for a remedy for these unsightly veins under my eyes. I am at my wits end because cosmetics does nothing to hide this unsightly veins, which sometimes are accompanied by puffiness under the eye. It's really frustrating and embarrassing to the point that it's starting to inhibit my everyday social habits because they also say I suffer from rosacea, which causes me to have constantly red skin that isn't relieved by any of the medication (doxycycline, metrogel, etc.) they have given me or the OTC stuff I have tried. I've not been able to get any answers that work from anybody and need help.
Thank you
Answer the BP meds are a non issue... the veins that are apparent can be ablated (injections with hypertonic saline) that will get rid of them... the rosacea may may that problem a little worse, but usually, those little cosmetic procedures are safe and effective.
