Question
My youngest daughter, Emily, has been complaining that she doesn't feel well for the past week. Her forehead, neck, and cheeks feel like they're burning, but she says she's freezing. Her temperature was at 101.8 when I just checked and I gave her tylonel a few hours ago. Her temperature has been betweem 99.9 and 101.8 (right now it's at it's highest). She has no other symptoms other then being extremly tired. Any ideas what's wrong with her?

Answer
Hi Sarah,
As a rule, these symptoms in a child he age suggest a viral illness. Any sore throat, ear ache, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea? If so, a visit to her pediatrician is in order, otherwise let this pass. Be sure she drinks plenty of fluids to prevent fever induced dehydration.
