Question
Hi there, iam planning on having a second child, but i have had no periods and have seen a gynocologist which had me go for a few tests to see if i had pcos, all my blood work came back normal and the ultrasound on my ovaries was normal as well. she ruled out pcos and said to lose weight,(because iam overweight) and see if your periods come back too normal, and my question is will not having a period affect my fertility in any way? and why was i not put on a fertility drug like clomid? how long is to long to go without a period? thanks for your time.

Answer
Hi Hayley,
Provided you have normal ovarian function, your fertility will be OK. Clomid is used to treat infertility but that hasn’t been established for you yet. After you miss a couple of periods, you may want to ask your GYN if he or she wants to try to recycle you before doing anything else. Thyroid function would also be a good thing to check.
