Question Hello,
I have a question that will probably sound pretty silly, but is concerning me. I have had a very bitter, metallic taste in my mouth for the past few days. I have also had a headache, and lots of post nasal drip. I was trying to figure out what could be causing the bad taste, and the only thing I could think of is that I cleaned the bathroom the other night with tilex, and then took a shower shortly after so I was still breathing in the fumes. I remembered it burned my nostrils pretty badly, and then the bad taste started. Do you think this is what caused it? Have you ever heard of this before?? Thank You, Megan
Answer You might have irritated your smell receptors and taste and smell go together in sending sigmals to the brain. The nose drip and headache also makes me think you might have a sinus infection that can also cause the taste problem. Try a little afrin nose spray and if you get any green or blood nasal discharge see your doc about antibiotics.
