Question QUESTION: I absalutley hate taking medicines exspecially antibiotics!!!
The thing that scares me the most is stephen johnson syndrome. Can you please tell me how soon after taking a medicine that would develops if it was going to, thanks!
ANSWER: If you are on antibiotics and get this extremely rare reaction (it can occur with any medication) it can occur starting a couple days after starting the antibiotics to a couple of days after you have finished the antibioitics. With concerns I have about antibiotics, that is very low on my list.

QUESTION: Thanks for that information. A couple more questions. Stopping the medication reduces the risk, corect? I took 500Mg of azithromycin, how long does that stay in my system?
I am itchy, no rash, I have toyed with the fact it could be "all in my head." I have read that itchiness is a mild reaction, is that correct? I sure am not taking anymore.
Answer yes, stopping would reduce the risk.... azithro is a weird one... you never really get high blood levels... it is gobbled up by some white cells and delivered to areas of infection so it may remain in white cells for a week or more. 99.99 of "itchiness" is nothing or an allergy, not SJS. So don't panic....
