Question
I am a 27 year old Female. I have had low energy for a long time.  It really started about two years ago.  I was told to get vitamins with high levels of B12.  They didn't really seem to help.  In March, the doctor took blood and my B12 levels were down to 200.  I guess they are suppose to be 1200-1500.  I had to take shots for 6 months.  I was told that some people don't have what they need in their stomach to absorb the B12 from food or pills.  Is there a test to figure out if I have that problem?  How long does a B12 defecency take to go as low as 200?  How would I know if I would have to take shots for the rest of my life?

Answer
There is a test for that problem.... a shilling test... but, you have it... you need shots monthly for life... or you need the nasacobal spray weekly for life.  You can't tell how much you absorb so I can't answer the other questions.... but get back on it now....
