Family, Internal Medicine, General Medical Questions - stomach problems

Expert: Maggie Smith, RN, MSN - 2/2/2009

Question
sir,
My dad age 60 a hypertension patient, taking tablets daily.
recent 10 days he goes to twotoilet daily 4 or 5 times by a small pain in stomach. wats the reason for that?. please give me some medical ideas.

Answer
Is he urinating or having bowel movements 4-5 times a day?

If it's urination, then that's probably related to diuretics, which are prescribed for high blood pressure.

When does he have stomach pain?  Any blood in the stool?  I think he should get his stomach pain checked by a doctor, that's not normal.
