Question Hello, my daughter is 22. She had a horrible pain 10-15 minutes after intercourse twice last year. We went to gynecologist, but she didn't find anything. A few months ago she took a morning pill once after the condom was broken. But last month she is having her period three times. The first one lasted 10 days and was very heavy, the second one in two weeks was for 3 days and not heavy. She took a pregnancy test and she is not pregnant. And now in another two weeks she is having another period and she is feeling lightheaded and extremely tired. We called the doctor, but she was not concerned and told us to come in for the check-up in a month. I worry about what's going on though and would appreciate any suggestions/recommendations. Thanks.
Answer Hi Alex,
Pain with intecourse is not normal. I am assuming that the pain was pelvic and not vaginal. If the pain came from deep thrust, it may mean that she has ovarian cysts that are painful. Provided she has no discharge, fever, nausea or vomiting, it is probably OK to wait for the follow up appointment. If she’s not on birth control pills, she may need to start in order to re-regulate her periods.
