Question I was diagnosed two and a half months ago with two large clots one in each lung after tearing my left calf and being imobile for a month. My doctor took blood to check for blood dissorders i have another month to wait before getting back those results,i am on 5 to 6mgs of warfarin and my INR levels have been very stable, just wondering if there is any way of knowing if i have a genetic dissorder from the information i have told you?
Answer if you have a decent reason for having a PE.... such as being immobile for a month... then chances are less that you have it than if it happened just out of the blue, with no aggravating factors.... so chances are, you don't have a genetic problem, but the blood tests are still indicated since the blood clots are so dangerous and you must know whether you have to be on lifelong Warfarin or just for 6 months. Hope this helps.
