Question About 2 weeks ago I caught a chill around my waist on the right side. About a day later I felt the muscle aches associated with this and it has continued, though it is improving. So I am not too alarmed by that.
However about a week ago I noticed that the digestive area about 5 inches to the right of my belly button has not been working as normal. It is sluggish. It feels bloated there and food stays in that area longer. There is no pain. My energy level is down somewhat and sometimes I feel slightly faint (when getting up) but that goes away quickly. I am sure this all has to do with the chill. The digestive "rumblings" and other digestive motions in that area are real sluggish. Is this associated with the sudden chill, and what might it be called? I tried a heating pad and that helped a little, but its still very sluggish. Does this sound familiar? I am 59 and my health has been excellent. Thanks.
Answer Hi David,
Frankly, I have never herd of “a chill” to a local part of the abdomen. Nor can I say that I can explain why you sense that there is food “stuck” in this one spot. As a rule you can not really tell where food is from one point to the next due to the complex inervation of the bowel. My best advice is to check with your doctor for some specialized testing. This entire scenario sounds a bit odd.
