Question QUESTION: i'm 46 yr old male. started running few mths ago and started having neck/shoulder/arm pain (have had heart checked out - fine.) also have had some had numbness. had MRI this wk... was told have 2 disk herniations at c5-c6 and c6-c7. also told mild central spinal lessening meaning less room for nerves to exit. i have stopped running, but still have some discomfort. my MD said nothing about coming in to discuss. said i should rest, but could start running at late date or could go to specialist for therapy. do you have any suggestions on what i should do? should i take adivl? antiflamitory meds? generally, does this heal on its own or am i going to have to have surgery - don't want at all. since the running increased the pain, can you suggest another exercise that won't aggrivate this condition. thank you.
ANSWER: No way to tell without magnesium, calcium, vit D and intact PTH levels
