Family, Internal Medicine, General Medical Questions/Rash after exercise

I have been plagued with a rash that happens either when I exercise or when i get sweaty. Most start as just small red bumps but some actually will burst open and cause scabs. They are painful as well. I notice when i shower after working out, the towel rubbing across the ones on my back hurt. They are mainly on my stomach and lower back. I certainly don't want to stop exercising just to see if they go away. Will a cortisone cream or anti histamine help keep them away?

if the skin is normal prior to exercising but this happens with exercise/sweat.... then it is a type of allergy.   An antihistamine like zyrtec or claritan may help.   Hydrocortisone cream would help but if you used it consistently..... not right away, so isn't helpful when it first breaks out.
