Question
Hi, I recently stopped taking my birth control pills and could become pregnant at some point. I had been taking Ativan to help me sleep but wanted to get something that is a safer to help me sleep in case I became pregnant. I talked with my nurse practitioner, and we discussed Flexeril, which she has prescribed for me. It is a class B pregnancy medication and seems to be safe for use during pregnancy, though I cannot find a lot of information on it.. Would you be able to tell me more about the use of Flexeril during pregnancy and its safety? Any information you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Jennifer

Answer
flexeril is a muscle relaxer and isn't a great sleep medicine.  I would get used to not taking anything since you are going to be pregnant soon and the baby will not want to come in to the world on several medications....... work towards getting off all meds if you can......
