I asked this question to your fellow expert and was told it was outside of her expertise; is this within your own?
I am English, married 24 years to an American and we live in Malaysia.
I am thinking of leaving my husband and would like to know under which country's law we would fall. (we were actually married in UK)
The bulk of our funds are in two Singapore banks (joint accts) plus a safety deposit box, the key to which I do not have access.
Would I be breaking the law if I went to Singapore and withdrew half the funds from the banks and attempted to get a replacement key for the dep. box?
Lastly, does my husband have the right to withold my credit cards, as he has been known to do in the past?
Thanks in anticipation.
Answer Hi,
As you told that you both live in MALAYSIA so Malaysian Law will be apply. You should go to Malaysian Lawyer and he will resolve your matter. Malaysian court has the jurisdiction in your matter because you both live in Malaysia.
