I have been with my husband now for 10 years, married for 6. He has 3 children from a previous marriage. I am considering divorce due to him being unfaithful through out our marriage. My question is what is my rights, if any, to my step children? I have been in their life constant for the last 10 yrs. and I know I have had a direct impact on their lives due to the fact that both their mom and dad have not always been their for them. Please advise me according to the laws in PBC Florida. Thanks.
Answer Hi Amy, after the divorce you will have no rights, what so ever, to the biological children of you current husband.
I hope this information was helpful to you.
This answer is based solely on the information you have provided in your question and as always, I would advise that you arrange for an in person consultation with an attorney from my firm or another Family Law attorney familiar with Florida Family Law who can analyze the specific facts and circumstances of the case more closely to better advise you.
