Question My now ex-boyfriend is offering $500 a month for our 8 month old daughter as child support. But according to the Florida State child support guidelines, I'm entitled to $700-$800 / month based on combined income. I've already filed for child support last week. My question is, should I draw up some sort of document stating that he is to pay me TEMPORARY child support of $500 until the permanent child support is ordered? Or should I just wait all together until he is served?
Answer Hi LaShanda, I would refrain from drafting anything indicting that you have agreed to accept a lesser amount of child support than what is due. If he pays the $500.00 accept it and continue to move forward with the child support action.
I hope this information was helpful to you.
