Question
I really hope you can help me out. my girlfriend of 8 months just recently told me that she is still married but is legally separated. she says that he cheated and has proof. how hard is it to get a divorce in the state of Virginia with proof of adultery? and what steps does she need to take to settle this asap so that i can be back in the picture again?

Answer
Dear Phillip

Virginia, along with most of the states, has  no fault divorce. The only requirement is that they be separated for a minimum amount of time. I don't remember what VA time period is, probably one year. She would have to file a complaint for divorce. Good luck.
