Education/Credentials I am currently enrolled in a school which encourages students to read a wide variety of books among other things. Though this school requires me to read different genres, I prefer SciFi and Fantasy.

Answer I literally just read a book by him last week, the first one ever.
He has an easy writing style. If you are looking to advance up into slightly higher reading, I believe you would like Orson Scott Card's 'Ender's Game' series. It is more in the future than books like Anthony Horowitz's Alex Rider series, but it has the same concept. It focuses on a rather talented child put through many extraneous circumstances. It was one of my favorite reads, and I think you will like Card's writing style.
