About Santa Lucia
Expertise
I am a lover of fantasy turned on to the genre by my older sister and have read series by Mercedes Lackey, MZBradley, Melanie Rawn, Jennifer Roberson, Kate Elliott, Ursula LeGuin, Andre Norton, Robin Hobb, Elizabeth Lynn, Piers Anthony, Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, Elizabeth Moon, and many others. I love talking about books and getting suggestions on what to take on next!

Experience
I have read and written a multitude of stories and when I was fourteen bought over 300 fantasy novels in one year. I have read almost all of them by now and am constantly acquiring more.

Question
I read this book over 10 years ago so it isn't completely clear, I've never been able to find the title searching. I believe it was about a young woman placed into a tower in the middle of nowhere and given magic bracelets that produced some beam of heat. They had really intense winters and she had to come out and melt the ice away, or something like that.

Then a guy shows up, he may have come from space, and I think tries to hide in the tower and that messes everything up. I think it had some sci-fi elements, possibly tripod robots (not sure if I'm combining things) and I recall there was something about the next book in the series that would be about magic cloth that... told the future?

I know this is all pretty vague. Thanks a ton if you know what I'm talking about!

Answer
H Jason,
I am sorry to say that this is a bit vague for me and I am not coming up with any response at all.  I wish you the best of luck finding this book!  If you do come up with any more info, please be sure to let me know and I will do the best I can!
Lucia
