Question
my 16 2 ex racehorse has one very flat hoof on his front 'he has got natural balance shoes on but gets a bruised sole often .another farrier has mentioned using v tech which i cannot find any information about can you help me

Answer
HELLO LORETTA...THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION...
I need to first ask you how long have you had this horse. Do you know his background?? You said he had "one" very flat/dropped sole.
Has he ever had laminitis?

That hoof will always be susceptible to bruising. I personally don't use the NBS shoes because even though you leave more hard sole
before applying them; it does put some pressure on the sole. In my
opinion, that is NOT needed.
The "v-tech" you were told about is a company called Vettec/Calif.
I have used their products for years with great success.

A sole-pad called "Equi-Pak" can be applied by your farrier and IF used after several shoeings/resets... I will form perfectly to the sole and bars and not only give protection, but will change the shape and structure in time and improve the sole.

It is definitely worth your time trying it. Ask your farrier to purchase some.

The Best to you...
