Question
I have a large horse (Belgium Paint cross) and he needs boots. How do I get the correct size for such a large horse?
Thank you.

Answer
HEY LIBBIE...THANKS FOR YOUR QUESTION...

Not sure where you live...but if you can't find the larger sizes
you might go on line and look up Omaha Vaccine Co. (Nebraska)or
Valley Vet Supply (Kansas) they both handle alot of tack. Alot of
large size western/eastern saddle & tack stores will order them for you.

A horse with it's size and breeding will need an ex-large.
A Bell-boot or Over-reach boots as they are called MUST fit loose.
As the horse breaks over in it's stride, the boot(for protection)
should slightly fall BEHIND the heels and heel bulb.
That way, pulling of shoes is VERY difficult and lacerating the
coronary band is hard to do.

Too many times, I've seen too many that are "ornamental". They are
to tight/snug and perform no purpose except to hug the coronary band
and horses overreach or step on themselves and pull shoes.

Thanks again for your time...
Best to you!
