Question
Hello- I am a senior in high school from a small town in Nebraska and am thinking about a career in the fashion industry.  I have always enjoyed fashion and shopping and am often questioned for the latest trends.  Primarily, when all is said and done with my post-high school education, I have significant interest in becoming a fashion editor for a magazine firm or periodical division. To achieve all of the requirements to be successful at attaining this position, what do you suggest me majoring/minoring in when I decide on a college/university, and do you reccommend any such institutions that would go along with your suggested major?  If you could reply, that would be splendid, or if you could refer me to somewhere else, that would be fine too.  Thanks so much for your time~

Answer
Aaron-

I recommend a major in journalism, with a minor in fashion merchandising. It is also beneficial to learnthe history of fashion.  Please email me directly, I would love to get to know you! TheFashionWriter@yahoo.com - you sound very ambitious- best of luck!

Timothy
