Question
Hi there,
I'm going in for an interview at Aldo Shoes for assistant manager position! I'm super stoked for the opportunity, but a more than a tad nervous about what to wear. I have no experience in retail, so I really want to ensure my clothes give a great first impression so as to actually stand a chance at the position. No clue about the outfit ... as for the shoes, my personal selection of shoes is rather limited but I do have some (annoyingly-pointy-and-long) black pumps... I really don't know what they'd go with though. My only other option really for shoes would be some strappy silver sandals and those obviously wouldn't be appropriate...help!! Would a black pencil skirt work? I have black glasses and really would prefer not to resemble a secretary so I'm worried about wearing the normal white-button-up and pencil skirt. Maybe a colour shirt? Or a colour-block dress? They asked for the applicant to be "extremely fashionable"! Eep, Help!

Anyways, thanks a bunch!

Answer
Congrats on getting the interview!
Sorry for the delay with this response, I am on vacation but for some reason my account wasn't update.  The color block dress you mentioned sounds like a good option.  A suit is professional, but if they are asking for the applicant to be fashionable I would think a dress would be a better option.  Is there any way you could get a cute pair of shoes from Aldo to wear with the dress?  Whenever I have interviewed with a designer or store I have tried to wear a piece from them so that they know you are a fan of the brand,

Good luck!!  I am sure you will look great!
