Question
Hello We are a property managment group and we have homes for disabiled families. Is there a goverment program that pays the rent for these families that is no sec. 8???
Also I am a college student and I was wondering if there is a grant for the goverment to buy a individual a computer? I really dont have the money to take out student loans. Thanks Candi

Answer
Hi, Candi:  Thanks for the questions.  You would have to classified as HUD Subsidized Housing in order for the government to help pay the rent for these families.  You will need to contact the closest Housing & Urban Development (HUD) office to you in order to find out if you might qualify.  There are not really any grants for you to get an individual computer.  However, there are many sources in a community where you might be able to get one.  First of all, check with your local schools to see if and when they are upgrading their computers.  Often times they will offer the old ones to members of the community simply to get rid of them.  Do the same with your local government agencies and any non-profit agencies in your area.  Even check with United Way. Good Luck!
