Question explain the difference between local, state, and national taxes.
Answer Hi, Antajuan: Thanks for the question. Local taxes are generally for city, borough, or county and school taxes. Depending on where you live, these are usually in increments called mills. There may also be a per capita tax and an occupational privilege tax levied by your local taxing entity. A state tax is generally some percentage of what you earn where you work. States such as Nevada have no state tax because of the casinos. Federal tax is a percentage based upon the amount you earn.
