•   Given the information on the card, what problems are facing your country?
•   What could be some of the factors contributing these problems?
•   How do these factors influence peoples’ participation in government?
•   How does your selection for a governmental and economic system address these problems?

Answer
Hi, Taryana:  Thanks for the question.  First of all, the life expectancy is low and so is the literacy rate along with the purchasing power parity.  Most of the country's labor force is involved in agriculture to produce food for the huge population.  This whole scenario sounds much like China. Some of the factors contributing to these problems could be that the government only allows so many people to be educated, most of the people are relegated to farming and only a very limited number of people have any wealth.  These people can participate in government only on a limited basis mainly because they do not understand the process or the structure.  A dictatorship mainly works well here because the people are instructed as to what they need to do, they follow orders and the country survives.
