Question
I am a female living close to Indianapolis and wanting to start a freight brokerage company.  Are there any grants that I would qualify for.  I have searched the Internet and all I can find are grants for women in not for profit companies.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Hi, Kelly:  Thanks for the question.  The best site I found when searching for federal grants is:  www.grants.gov   If you have not checked it out, it may be worth your while.  As a new business start-up, you may qualify for one of SBA's small business low interest loans.  You would have to contact the nearest SBA office to your location to find out.  I am sure you are aware that you have to have a business plan completed to be eligible for either a grant or a loan.  Sometimes you can at least get a grant via a chamber of commerce or other economic development entity to get your business plan done.  Best of Luck!
