Federal Government Contract/Grants/Purchasing - daycare center

Expert: Rich Mihalic - 11/4/2009

Question
Would like to go
about starting a daycare center.  all policy and procedure are in place but I have a credit of 400. Can I get a grant to start a daycare center.

Thanks

Answer
Hi, Yvonetta:  Thanks for the question.  You can go to:  www.grants.gov and search using the key words "grants for daycare centers".  However, most daycare centers are supported on the local level.  I would advise you to contact your local Chamber of Commerce and ask them if there are businesses in your area in need of daycare services and who would support a new center.  Also contact the district office of your state representative to see if they know of any grants at the state level for daycare.

Good Luck!

RM
