Answer Gail...my apologies in not responding earlier than this. Your question is perhaps the most common one that I respond to-since you didn't indicate what business you were looking to start up I will give you some information as to where to start- go to the website http://www.firstgov.gov, do a search for small business grants...on the results page you should see a reference for the Entrepeneur's Reference Guide to Small Business....then hit up the local library to get the book. How far along are you? Sometimes the question asked just leads to more-I do have experience in startups having done some consultation for friends (and myself)...be glad to help-and because I am a federal contracting officer I don't charge (if you were wondering)...I rather enjoy helping on these kind of projects...just send to ebankit@pica.army.mil rather than clog up the expert.com...
