Question
hello

i feel that i have a fetsihsim disease but i want to know from you as you an expert whats the symptoms that let me know i have that disease ?

generally whats the fetishism symptoms ?

wish to hear from you soon
thanks

Answer
What makes you think it is a "disease"?

Certainly not the American Association of Psyschiatry.

Fetishism is a form of "paraphilia" which involves a fixation on parts of the body or inanimate objects.

The most common form of fetishism is breast fetishism which "afflicts" nearly all men.

One of the increasingly predominant ones is rubber fetish which has even spawned an amazingly large industry of rubber garment producers and sellers. (Just search on "latex catstuit" in Google or Ebay!) Surveys conducted by the International Association of Rubberists have found that even if they could easily give up their fetish, the overwhelming majority of Rubberists really enjoy their kink and would prefer not to be rid of it. Think about that... (You can view the poll results at http://www.rubberist.net/forums/poll.php?do=showresults&pollid=31 )

There are hundreds of other fetishishes, too. The one thing they all have in common is that they are harmless and do NOT hurt anyone. Just because someone may be a bit weird by your standards does not mean they are a threat to you or anyone else.

The REALLY IMPORTANT THING is to not beat yourself up over this. If you have a fetish, learn to accept and, IN PARTICULAR, learn to enjoy it like millions of others do.  And if someone insists that you should think it is a disease and that you are "sick", I suggest you consider that they are actually a threat to your mental health. They make you hurt over something you cannot change and that they probably know nothing about. Cast them out of your life if you can. At the very least, don't listen to them.

Good luck! You are NOT alone!
