Question
What is SPLICING? How its done? When we need to do Splicing?

Answer
Hello Rajesh!

Thanks for the question.

Splicing is a process of connecting two fiber cables permanently. It is used whenever you need to have a permanent connection between two fiber cables. The other method of joining two fiber cables, namely the fiber connector is a temporary connection between two fiber cables and usually accomplished using a special type of fiber connector. For details on how splicing is done, please refer to 'Optical Fiber Communications' by Gerd Keiser, McGraw Hill.
