Fibromyalgia - Fibromyalgia versus Multiple Sclerosis

Expert: Catherine Martin - 6/2/2006

Question
You are wrong.  I have been studying the wrong books.  Many doctors will tell their patients thay have Fibromyalgia if there is no evidence of burden of lesion.  Many people on support groups have both, many people have first been diagnosed with FMS only to have that changed when they start to show damage.
Some doctors are too damn stubborn to admit they made a mistake and some people are discovered upon autopsy to have had MS when they were never diagnosed with it.  Some doctors believe that FMS is actually mild cases of MS.  And the painful cases of MS are very much like Fibromyalgia.  I have been diagnosed with FMS and now I am trying to get some stupid Neurologists to tell me what the flipping lesions and lucencies are on my MRI.  Guess what, there are also black holes in my brain and the Neurologists don't know what they are either.    If I sound like I am venting, I am sitting here with burning cold numb feet and hands, feeling my myoclonus jerks in WV looking at my MRI lesions and combining the files with known MS cases.  They are just alike.  who is wrong?
