Subject: Guaifenesin

Question
I have only recently become aware of Guaifenesin as a remedy for fibromyalgia. I have not even started on the tablets yet as all the information is so confusing. Such as having to eliminate all salicylates in order for the guaifenesin to work. I did notice that you talk of taking a combination which does not require the removal of salicylates from products and would be very interested to know about this. Also what type of guaifenesin is best and where to buy it from as I live in Shropshire, England. Also is it necessary to be on a strict diet as recommended in the book 'What your doctor may not tell you about fibromyalgia. I would be really grateful for any help you could offer. I have been a sufferer of FM for 9 years.

Answer
The combination method we are using is a little less confusing.

Check with support groups in your area and ask who is using Guai and where are they getting it.

One international source is in Canada.  There is a link to them on the FibroFix web site.

Diet can be very important - if you are an Overly Acidic Fibro.  Read the link about saliva pH and testing.

Thanks,

Annie
