Question
Hi Catherine!

I'm a fellow Fibromite. I'm 26 and got mono last March and it progressed into full FMS: with the IBS, the TMJ and the CFS, etc. Don't you love writing in abbreviations? (o:

Thank God, I'm doing quite well with mine.  I do lots of yoga and walking and take long hot baths to help with the aches. I am taking Wellbutrin and Neurontin to help with pain and insomnia, and Mobic (an anti-inflam.) when needed.  I'm doing all I can to keep living as normally as I can.

My question is: What do you know about natural treatment of FMS? I'd like to eventually get off all medications, (but when I try, certainly notice the pain difference!). I take MSM-great anti-inflam! Do you have any other suggestions of things that are more natural?

Thanks! Sarah

Answer
sarah;

well you seem to do pretty well with your FMS,not all do.

like myself,i cant go day-by-day without having pain,but i do have more medical probelms besides this.

heres a few thing that may help;

joint pain
-one nonstandard way to combat general joint pain and stiffness is to take extract of devils claw root,an anti-inflammatory herb that helps joints move together more freely after overuse or irritation. there are a number of commerical reedies available in the health food or nutrition shops.

omega-3 oils found in fatty-type fish,such as salmon and mackerel,have been praised for protective cardiovasular benefits and anti-inflammatory actions that reduce joint pain. flaxseed oil may be an even better substitute.

i hopes this helps you.

good luck;
catherine;
