Expert: Anne Hillebrand Date: 10/17/2007 Subject: Is there a connection?
Question I was diagnosed 10 years ago with fibro and have been on a big merry-go-round ever since. While at the dr yesterday he told me that my calcium was very high and that my sugar in the urine test was high. He is retesting the blood for both but I was doing some surfing and saw a reference to fibro, hyperparathyroidism, and PCOS being linked somehow. I was never diagnosed with PCOS (didn't exist when I was of the age to be diagnosed) but had all the symptoms and my daughter has it. Hyperparathyroidism seems to be the most likly source of the high calcium. Do you know anything about this connection and any questions I should ask on my next visit? I am so confused, because every time I see a new dr. (because the old one doesn't seem to know about fibro, or care!) they change all the meds and go on a new rabbit hunt. Help!
Thanks!
Answer Lots of theories about what is linked to FMS. What we know how to do is reverse the symptoms.
Urine tests for FMS can be kind of confusing because we aren't rinsing, feeding and lubricating our cells correctly. Some things get flushed out and some don't.
We test saliva, for pH. Very important.
Female problems are legion in FMS. I had no periods for 25 years, but on treatment these past 7 years have been just like a clock every 28 days, and no problems. Am about to be 55.
Let your doc deal with the calcium issues as best he/she can. Please give them the www.FibroFix.com web site address. He may think we are nuts, but at least he will know the truth.
If he can't or won't help you, the info is also self-help, so you can do it on your own if you have to.
