Question Hi Catherine, I am pretty much desperate here, I havent been diagnosed with anything specific yet, but I'm still holding out! I am in chronic pain all the time, I find it really difficult to sleep, I have a terrible memory, I have IBS with C, I have been depressed for over 6 years. I was terribly bulied ( physically and verbally) from the age of 10 till 14/15. I dont talk to my parents about it anymore because they just tell me that I'm lying and that I need to get over it. I was said to of had Fibromyalgia, went to MAyo clinic looking for some serious answers, they thought it way Chrones (its not) was there for a week and a half and all they could come up with was general myalgia with IBS. I have been on Miralax for a little over a year now, I have to have it other wise I am in chronic pain. I am very bright and knowledgable, ( have travelled all over) so I know the reasons for why I think the way I do et. I know why I am depressed, I just dont know how to solve any of it. I have been on anti depressants for over 2 years ( it was first given to me for treatment for my stomach) I was on Effexor which made me extreamly sick for 4 weeks when I went off it, couldnt move with out blacking out or throwing up. I am now on 75mg of lamictal, for bipolar disorder. I heard of a new med for the treatment of Diabetes pain and Fibromyalia pain. My psychyatrist wants me to go on to a different bi polar med ( spacing on the name right now, some thing with a C) which works with the pain side too.
by the way, I am only 18 years old, I have dealt with this since I was 10. I havent done any sports for years ( I cant move because of the pain) doctors told me not to do it. Thing is, I dont feel any pain when working out, no muscle sorness the day after, nothing but if I stop over the weekend, I am in so much pain in my back and neck ( not the muscles I use when working out) and I am so TIRED!
I saw a doctor in South Africa ( that's where I'm from ) he said that it might be CFS because many africans get that. One more thing.. I live in Honduras, there are very limited resources here and barely anyone speaks English. I have been scamed 3 times by doctors and overdosed twice from pricriptions given to me. I kinda feel like a lost cause, I mean the Mayo Clinic couldnt find anything! they didnt even mention CFS. I find it so difficult to keep friends, there is so much to me and they get confused, or its too much to handle. THing is, If I dont tell them they come at me with all these questions, that if I told them in the first place it wouldnt happen.
Anyways, I know right now you are thinking that I am a complete nut case, but I havent spoken about this in about a year ( since I got back from MAyo) I dont talk to my parents ( I have no relationship with them) and so this is my rant I guess! :)
I'm pretty sure that there is nothing that you can suggest but if there is anything at all, PLEASE tell me! I am now working as a 4th grade teacher at a local school and life is tough! I am making my own money, so I can go to the doctor at my own will! I am moving to Australia in Feb. so anything you can thinks of, I can try out there!
O'm so sorry bout all this, and I really hope to hear from you soon!
THank you so much for taking the time to read up to this far!

Answer kelly;
this could be fibro,indeed it sounds like it. but i feel you have something else,like an underlying condition from being abused when you were younger.
depression can become very serious,and make you have alot of pain,if its not getting the right kind of treatment.
i feel from what you have told me that you should change your medication for depression to something else,that works better.
you could try that new medication for diabetes pain,it may help you alot,so give it a try.
