Subject: new judging system

Question
Could you please explain the new(well not really anymore!) judging system to me? I know that there is a certain amount of points that you can earn for jumps etc. Also, what is the most points a double salchow can be worth if landed with no deductions?

Answer
Hi,
Go to the US Figure Skating website.  www.usfigureskating.org click on "judging systems".  Here you can find what you need.  ISU communication #1494 just came out with all new values.
Basically the Technical Specialist identifies an element and the judges grade it.  This gives you element scores, then the judges also score components similar to the old Artistic mark.  The total score from both determines the winner.
Dianne
