Question
I am 10 years old ,I have been skating for 1 1/2 years now. I was about to take my pre -juv test and my coach decided to take a job in another city ,now I am left hanging . Where can I find a coach that is not there for only a short while , and determined to coach with desires to my goals. The only coach here in Greeley Colorado is not familiar very well with higher level skaters. She is the director for learn to skate. I am a determined skater and practice 20 hours a week . I have high goals and need a coach. Greeley just opened their Ice Haus 3 years ago and Figure Skating is still new here. Do you have any ideas or suggestions.  Thank you Phoenix

Answer
Hi,
If this is where you want to skate, you need to find a coach there.  Perhaps they can grow with you.  Meet with different coaches there and try to find one that will work with you.  If need be you could travel to another city for your lessons to supplement the coach at your rink.
Good luck,
Dianne

Expertise

I can answer questions about figure skating, choreography, ISI or USFSA. Also questions about competing (my Olympic experience or your own competition). I`m a National referre for ISI. Recently I also have been appointed a National Technical Specialist for US Figure Skating. But remember I am not your substitute for a coach! They can see what you are doing! To correct or instruct you on manuevers is really not what I want to do.
