Figure Skating/facial expressions

Question
Hi,

I figure skate competitively but only as a hobby (if that makes sense) and I have been looking for ways to improve my program, and I was wondering what sort of facial expressions I could use for my program?  I know you can't see it but just in general?  Something more than smiles thanks!

Answer
Hi,
This is different for everyone.  For me I hate the overly fake expression.  I love seeing joy in the skater for the most part.  If the character needs to be potrayed in an Artistic or Showcase then some acting comes in.  But keep it real!
Enjoy yourself.

Expertise

I can answer questions about figure skating, choreography, ISI or USFSA. Also questions about competing (my Olympic experience or your own competition). I`m a National referre for ISI. Recently I also have been appointed a National Technical Specialist for US Figure Skating. But remember I am not your substitute for a coach! They can see what you are doing! To correct or instruct you on manuevers is really not what I want to do.
