Subject: Shares in KKD and cannot find papework

Question
Hi - I purchased Krispy Kreme Donuts about 7 years ago and I cannot find any paperwork for these stocks.  The broker I purchased these shares from sent me the information, since he was no longer handling small accounts.  How can I go about finding out my ownership information for these shares?  Thank you

Answer
You should go back to the broker dealer, and ask for statements to see if the shares are in the account. Or, if not in the account, you should attempt to find the certificates. If you can not do either of these actions, then the best thing to do is ask the broker dealer to contact the transfer agent to secure a "lost certificate form". Once you have this form, then you can start the process to secure the certificates.
