Question
Hi,
Is it advisable to take a loan from my 401k to buy a used car worth under 10,000$? What other way can I get the money and pay as little interest as possible?
Thank You :-)

Answer
Relatives, friends, neighbors... for a low interest rate car loan.

Also, try a credit union.

Next try a bank.

If all that fails, then consider a 401K loan.

I would rather see you put your 401K into a self directed IRA account if your administrator will allow it and invest in some real estate.

Now is a great time to buy for a long term hold.
