Financing -- Loans/rates

QuestionHi
I was talking with my mortgage guy and he said the way to find out what the actual rates are day-to-day is to check the
mortgage backed securities and if people are buying them, the rate drops and vice-versa. He said to go to CNN Money,
search Yahoo, etc. I consider myself a very good researcher, but I could not find any sites that show this info. Do you
know of one particular website where I can go to in order to check the actual hourly mortgage rates or at least see if the
securities are being bought or sold? I know very little about the finance market etc. and I'm just going by what he told me.
Thanks!!!
AnswerHello,
I wish I did know of a place to go to find this information myself. But, to the best of my knowledge, there isn't one and don't see how you'd be able to keep up with the rate change information, since we in the business can't.
What that last comment means; we are getting rate changes 3 to 8 time a day, We sometimes only get a 2 hour span to lock rates when a change takes affect.
Sorry I couldn't help direct you to where you are looking to go, but if you find such a place, be sure to let me know..... :)
Good luck, and please let me know the outcome of your search.
