Question
Hi my name is Justin. i am 17 years old and i live in foster care. i work at McDonalds currently only because i am almost 18 and need a job. i hate working there. i need to find a career in life but i am finding it difficult. i really want to be a mechanic but do not no a whole lot about it and every place that i have looked to learn how to be a mechanic you have to be 18 to even go to school there it is ridiculous and i am getting frustrated can you help me please?

Answer
Hello Justin,
I can understand the haste you feel in getting your life together. You have time. I would suggest that you find a place that repairs vehicles and ask if you could volunteer on your days off.

There are two benefits to this....free training and a test drive of a career that you are interested in.

I commend you on wanting to do something with your life unlike a few in your age group. Pay attention and be patient.
