Question
I have a painting of daisies in a vase with a red background with a date of 1892 and the signature looks like Ina Johns, Johnson but is mostly faded and illegible.  Are you familar with such an artist or recommend anywhere to do some research?

Thanks!

Answer
Dear M, This is probably Ida A. Johnson (Am.1852-1931)known for floral sill-lifes and china painting. She was born in Duchess County, NY, died in Carmel, CA. Johnson was a member of the Carmel Arts & Crafts Club and the Berkeley League of Fine Art.
Cordially,
Dan
