Fine Art/Dog paintings by Robert Cleminson

Hunting dogs
Hunting dogs
I have 2 Oil paintings which appear to be by Robert Cleminson and I inherited from my great grandfather. Both paintings are approx 15.5" x 11.5" and are signed 'R Cleminson' in bottom left of painting. One depicts 2 hunting dogs guarding the catch, the other a dog flushing out a bird. They are not in original frames and both have slight damage. Could they be of any value, and if so would they be worth cleaning and restoring.

Hello Angela,  Comparable works by Robert Cleminson sell for 2,000 - 3,000+ US dollars.  You should take them to a qualified painting conservator and have them assessed.  You will then be able to decide what the best course of action will be.  Cheers, Brent
