Fine Art/Possible Original Picasso work

Question
Hello,
Like most people today, I am on a tight budget and cannot afford a "proper"
appraisal of the work in question unless I have some sense of certainty that it
may be authentic. The work, a Picasso signed original, has been confirmed to
be a genuine oil pencil (?) piece by a local gallery but they knew nothing of
Picasso works, dealing only in emerging artists. That said, I found the piece
in an old antique shop and it was sold to me as a Picasso litho. Knowing
lithos and being somewhat familiar with Picasso works, I knew something was
special about the piece, so I bought it. After doing research, I could not find it
in any collection of the master's works, so I took it to the local place that
confimred it was not a reproduction...I am curious as to why someone would
knock off a lesser known Picasso work, which leads me to hope it is real. Do
you know of anyone who will take a look at a few decent pics of the work and
advise further?

Thanks,

Rob

Answer
Dear Robert, you are in luck. I have the perfect contact for you. And free of charge no less. I recommend to you Alex Adelman, president of Masterworks Fine Art, Inc. http://www.masterworksfineart.com Picasso lithographs are one of his many specialties. He will gladly look into this piece for you if you email him this story about the piece, a photo of the whole piece, a photo of the signature, and a photo of the piece number (if available). Keep in mind an unknowing framer may have covered up these in the margins so make sure the frame is not hiding any goodies.

Good luck to you.
