Question
Hello, and thanks in advance for your help. I have two drawings by a Czerny. I think he was an Austrian . The prints are signed, pen and ink with water color. They are 14x18 to the wall. They look new, with no fading or damage. They are professionally framed. The subject are The Cathedral at st. Stephens, and The Hafnestig. I think they are pre war. Can you tell me anything about the artist, the value. thanks Joe

Answer
Joe,
Your artist is Ludwig Czerny, and you are correct he was Austrian.
1821-1889.

Here is some quick info found through a google on his name...you'll have to do the currency conversions on your own.

I am NOT expert in European works, as I state, but hopefully this information will get you started in the right direction on your research.

Meanwhile, enjoy this original art from the Old World!
