Fine Art/Hague school painting

Herder with sheep
Herder with sheep
We have had this painting in our family as long as I can remember.
I recently for the first time saw some of Anton Mauve's work.
The similarities of this painting with many of his works is astounding.
But as you can see from the close-up of the signature this is not one of his.
I am convinced that this painting was done by another of the 'Hague school' of painters.

Do you have any suggestion as to whom the painter could be?
Thanks in advance.

Hello Chris,  Thank you for the images.  Not sure who painted the work but I will think about it and get back to you.  Please send an image of the back of the painting.  Is it on panel or canvas?  What size is it?  Cheers, Brent

Hello Chris,  Not Hague School.  Not old enough and if anything the subject is Belgian. Do not know the artist.  Cheers, Brent
