Question
Hmichel painting
Hmichel painting
Hi there.  I have searched and searched for information on a painting I
recently purchased at an estate sale.  I have been unable to find any
information.  You are my last hope!!

I was told by the auctioneer that this is a French painting and that it
is registered.  It is signed "Hmichel" and has some sort of Asian
script next to the name.  I believe it is oil on canvas.  It measures 24in
x 18in.

I am not sure of the age of this piece.  I am hoping it is prior to
1940 so you can help me out!!  I have attached a photo of the whole
picture.  I can't figure out how to attach more, so Please let me know if
there is any more information that you need, or if you would like to see
any more pictures.  Thank you so much for your time and effort!

Answer
Hillary,  I do not know who the artist is.  It looks to be newer than 1940 and I suggest it is not of European origin since the size 24 x 18 in. is an American/British post WWII size.  I suggest you contact the auctioneer and find out what he/she used to determine the work is French and 'registered.'   Cheers, Brent
