Fine Art/Jean Moreau

Question
I have a colour print in an old frame titled "Attend,Mon Vieux!" signed Jean Moreau not Jean Michel Moreau. There is a resemblance in the signatures. The frame is backed by wood and has a plaster motif around the edge. The print depicts two, obviously, intoxicated men in peasant type garb, holding each other up,leaving what looks to be a drinking establishment with "CAVE No 1" written above the door.A woman, behind the door, awaits them with an upraised broom.
I'm baffled.I can find nothing on it.Any idea of price range would be welcomed too.Thank you in advance.Gary

Answer
For some reason, this sounds familiar to me, but I cannot find the image in my library. Sounds like you have an etching or engraving?
The spelling Jean Moreau turns up old classic images on paper that were etched or engraved. The selling prices of the ones I found are low end, under $200.00. Some work would have to be done to determine if those are 1st edition or a later printing. It is common to see old etchings/engravings selling for low end prices.

Expertise

I can answer questions about Salvador Dali. While I cannot do FREE APPRAISALS, I might be able to help you sell your works. I can also help with Chagall, Miro, Picasso and other 20th Century Masters.

Questions about a type of art or medium can be answered with one response in most cases. Technical issues are easier to deal with than specifics about an artist. If you need help finding values or history on an artist, it will probably involve research that can sometimes take hours to complete. If you have more than one image to send, I will give you an alternate email address as this system cannot handle multiple images.
